1. What did you do immediately after high school?
I headed down to Texas for four years of a good time at TCU. I spent most of my time involved with intramurals and my sorority, and of course happy hours.
2. What kind of work do you do? Where do you work?
I live in Oklahoma City and work as an attorney. I do general litigation, but I primarily focus on oil and gas litigation. It's interesting, but it's a constant reminder of how much I don't know. There sure is a steep learning curve!
3. Where have you lived since high-school graduation?
I spent four years in Ft. Worth at TCU, then I spent 2 years in Fayetteville while I got a master's degree at the University of Arkansas. Since I tried out Missouri, Texas, and Arkansas, I thought it was only fair to check out Oklahoma, too. So after I graduated at Arkansas I moved to Oklahoma for law school and then just stuck around. I have really enjoyed each state I have lived in and have met some amazing people along the way.
4. Name of significant other? How did you meet your significant other?
I married Andy Long who was also in our class. We started dating our senior year in high school and never broke up. He's a keeper!
5. Do you have any children? Tell us about them.
No kids. Maybe one of these days.
6. What is your favorite high-school memory?
So many... I loved how low key and easy going things generally were. Some of my favorite memories were usually from just hanging out on the benches before (and during) school, band competitions, float trips, and spur of the moment get together at the most random places.
7. What did you hate most about high school?
Probably when we’d be out running for track and there was a good south wind blowing up all the goodness from the chicken farms south of town… man that smelled bad!
Oh, and not having air conditioning!
8. If you could do high school all over again, what would you do differently?
Not sure that I’d do it differently. I didn’t think that I took myself too seriously and I appreciated the time to just lay back and socialize without the worries of school, work, or raising a family.
9. What is your favorite experience post high-school graduation?
There have been a ton, but I guess I’d say a trip to New Zealand I took with some friends from college. We went skydiving, mountain biking, black water rafting, surfing, and wine tasting. Good times!
10. What is one thing you wish you’d known ten years ago?
People are oddly consistent.
11. What is one goal you’d like to accomplish in the next ten years?
Find someone that wants to plan the 20 year reunion.
12. Are you coming to the NHS reunion? If so, what are you most looking forward to?
Heck yea!! I can't wait to catch up. So many people in our class have had such amazing experiences since we've graduated and I can't wait to hear about them. See you there!
