1. What did you do immediately after high school?
I went to Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri where I majored in biology.
2. What kind of work do you do? Where do you work?
I actually just finished school. I realize that we graduated from highschool almost a decade ago so this is a strange answer but apparentlygraduate school can take awhile. After I finished at Truman in 2003 Imoved to Manhattan Kansas to go to graduate school at Kansas StateUniversity. I just defended my PhD in genetics at the end of February. Now I'm looking for a teaching job.
3. Where have you lived since high-school graduation?
Kirksville, Missouri. Manhattan, Kansas. Now I live in New Albany,Indiana (right outside Louisville, Kentucky).
4. Name of significant other? How did you meet your significant other?
Brady Miller. We met in college. We had a freshman speech class together and then a year later met again when we lived in the same dorm.
5. Do you have any children? Tell us about them.
No
6. What is your favorite high-school memory?
I don't know if I have a favorite, but I have lots. Decorating the halls for homecoming, freezing at football games, attending the incredibly lame post-game dances (am I not wrong? Other schools had winter formals and Sadie Hawkins dances, we had The Backstreet Boys and colored lights at the rec center), taking our baked treats from home economics to our favorite teachers, painting senior hill, going onfloat trips, etc.
7. What did you hate most about high school?
No doubt the drama. Don't get me wrong everyone has drama (even at our age and sometimes it is even entertaining) but high school drama is the worst.
8. If you could do high school all over again, what would you do differently?
First of all I would never choose to do high school all over again. It is such an awkward time. I can't even watch reality TV about highschool (aka....MTV's Made) without cringing! I enjoyed high school at the time but if I was forced to do high school again, knowing what I know now, I'm not sure I would enjoy it as much. I suppose if I was absolutely forced to go to high school again (like at gunpoint) I would probably try more things, get involved in things outside my comfort zone, meet more people.
9. If you could, what would you change about yourself since high-school graduation?
Can't think of anything
10. What is one thing you wish you’d known ten years ago?
Life is full of adventures if you look for them. If you don't there will be far fewer.
11. What is one goal you’d like to accomplish in the next ten years?
I'd like to start a family sometime in the next ten years
12. Are you coming to the NHS reunion? If so, what are you most looking forward to?
Definitely! I can't wait to reunite with old friends and maybe make some new ones.
