1. What did you do immediately after high school?
Well let's see... I attempted to attend Crowder College but it would seem that I was more interested in boys, then college. Not real surprising, huh? So after only being graduated from high school for 6 months I found out that I was going to be a Mom! And so the growing up began!
2. What kind of work do you do? Where do you work?
I am an Investment Advisor. I hold my General Securities licenses (7 & 66). I work for Arvest Asset Management and office out of Bella Vista, AR. Retirement Country!!! I've been with Arvest for 4 years now!
3. Where have you lived since high-school graduation?
Well I got real adventurous and stayed right here in Neosho!
4. Name of significant other? How did you meet your significant other?
I was lucky enough to eventually find and fall in love with the man of my dreams! We starting dating on my 22 birthday. I married him in September of 2003 after dating for exactly 11 months! His name is Andy Bowers!
5. Do you have any children? Tell us about them.
He does, I do, and we do! Isn't that how it works these days? Andy has a son, Brycen who is 12. I have Cortlyn who is 8. And Together we have Baylie Jo who is 4, and Wade Austin who is 19 months. And surprisingly we decided that maybe we had enough kids and got Fixed! :)
6. What is your favorite high-school memory?
I have so many. Any and all times spent with friends. Road tripping with flat tires, canoeing and parties at the creek, Halloween night with all the Senior girls, forking yards, Teresa's basement, the list goes on and on and on! If it involved Catherine, Sara Ruth, Sarah Pogue, Chelsey, Aaron, Lorelle, or Teresa, it was bound to be fun (and maybe illegal!)
7. What did you hate most about high school?
Nothing really. I do wish high school wasn't so awkward. It's hard to not be comfortable in your own skin. And for me high school was such a time of uncertainty and wanting to 'fit in'. But on the other hand, it is an amazing feeling to find yourself and figure out who you really are! Even if it does happen after high school.
8. If you could do high school all over again, what would you do differently?
I'm undecided on this one. Half of me would do it again in a heartbeat. The other half would run screaming the other direction. If I did do it, I would definitely consider the consequences of my actions much more then I did the first time!
9. If you could, what would you change about yourself since high-school graduation?
I don't know that I would change anything. I like the person that I've become.
10. What is one thing you wish you’d known ten years ago?
I wish I had known that just because you don't take the most logical path to get to where you're going, doesn't mean that you won't still get there.
11. What is one goal you’d like to accomplish in the next ten years?
Well, in 10 years I'll have an 18 (almost 19 year old). I'd like to see her in College and not so interested in boys as her mother was at that age. ha ha. I'd also like to see my career still growing and strong. And geez, in 10 more years we'll all be almost 40!!!!!!! So I guess I'd like for my family and myself to still be healthy and happy!
12. Are you coming to the NHS reunion? If so, what are you most looking forward to?
Absolutely! Wouldn't miss it for the world. I can not wait to see everyone. Who has changed the most, who hasn't, who married who.. it'll be a blast!
